TERMS OF USE
Short version: JET3D is free, it is a beta made by one person, and it is offered as it is. Be decent to the other people in the sky, do not cheat, and do not try to break the server. If you do, you can be removed. That is most of it; the rest of this page says the same thing with the detail filled in.
Who these terms are between
These terms are between you and the developer who makes and runs JET3D (described on the about page). By playing the game or using the site at www.jet3d.eu you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site — there is nothing to cancel, because there is nothing to sign up for.
The game is free, and offered as it is
There is no charge to play and nothing to buy. The game is in active development and changes from week to week — the development log records what changed and when. Features can be added, altered or removed, matches can end early when the server is restarted for an update, and the service can be unavailable or stop altogether.
So JET3D is provided as it is and as available, without any promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from using it or from not being able to use it — lost progress, lost rank, a match that disconnected at the wrong moment. Nothing here limits any right you have that the law says cannot be limited.
Who can play
Anyone can play without an account. Signing in with Google is optional; if you do, you also need to meet Google's own age and account requirements, and you should be old enough in your country to agree to these terms and to the privacy page yourself, or have a parent or guardian agree for you.
Callsigns and chat
Your callsign and anything you type in chat are seen by other players. Do not use them to harass, threaten or abuse anyone, to post hateful or sexual content, to impersonate somebody else, to share anyone's personal information, or to advertise. Callsigns containing offensive words are refused automatically and chat is filtered, but the filter is a floor, not permission for everything it misses.
You can mute anyone, and there is a report button beside every name in a match. How reports are handled, and what is kept when you send one, is set out on the privacy page.
Fair play
You agree not to:
- use cheats, bots, aim assistance, modified clients or anything else that gives you an advantage the game does not give everyone;
- exploit a bug deliberately to win, to farm kills or rank, or to spoil a match for other people — report it instead, through the suggestion box, and it will be fixed;
- attack, overload, probe or interfere with the game server or the site, or try to reach parts of them that are not meant for players;
- collect data about other players, or automate access to the site beyond what an ordinary browser does;
- evade a mute, a removal from a room or a ban, including by making new accounts or callsigns.
Enforcement
Breaking these rules can get you muted, removed from a room, or banned — for a day, a week or permanently — by account or by the connection the behaviour came from. A banned player is told why and until when. Ranked results earned unfairly can be removed. The decision is the developer's, made in good faith on the information available, and there is no obligation to warn first for something serious.
Accounts and your data
If you sign in, your account holds your callsign and your record. You can download a copy of it, or delete it outright and immediately, from your account page, without asking anyone. Everything about what is collected and why is on the privacy page, which forms part of these terms.
Advertising
Some reading pages on this site, such as the guide and the articles in the pilot's library, show advertising served by Google. The game itself — the menu, matches and scoreboards — does not. Adverts are provided by third parties, and the developer is not responsible for their content or for the sites they link to. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland you are asked about personalised advertising before any is shown.
What belongs to whom
The game, its code, aircraft, maps, sounds, artwork and the text on this site belong to the developer or are used under licence. You may play, share links to the site, and stream or record your matches and publish the footage, including on monetised channels. You may not copy or redistribute the game itself or its assets, or present it as your own. What you type into chat or the suggestion box stays yours; by sending it you allow it to be shown to the people it was sent to and used to improve the game.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change as the game does. When they do, the date at the top of this page changes with them, and continuing to play after that means accepting the new version. A change that materially affects you will be noted in the development log as well.
Contact
Questions about these terms, or anything else, go through the suggestion box on the menu. It reaches the developer directly and needs no account. More ways to get in touch are on the about page.
